ABOUT US

Elena de Adam (EDA) is an experienced artist in a range of art materials and styles. She has taken courses in painting with several Italian maestros, sculpting and restoration of antique items.

In 1987/88, she travelled to New York and trained at the world well known NEW YORK DOLL HOSPITAL under the mentorship of Mr. Irving Chais. 

     In 1989  Elena and her husband Vlad started their own Doll Hospital (https://www.edaartstudio.co.nz/gallery). 

They have worked restoring all kinds of dolls, soft animals and a vast variety of antique and collectables items.

At the same time, Elena developed a love for creating originally sculpted Art Dolls . This took Elena to international exhibitions between 1995 and 2001: The New York Toy Fair and the International Doll Expo.

For the last 15 years, Elena has solely focused on painting restoration, antique frames and porcelain artistic items. Life takes many turns and Elena and Vlad have  settled in beautiful Taupo, and recently relocated to Auckland. They continue working on restoring all kinds of art pieces.
